• Valid ID card or passport

• Landline phone bill with your residential address
  Alternatively: electricity or water bill with residential address, or

• Official registration confirmation from the local registration office (usually the citizens' office) of your place of residence, plus mobile phone bill

• Tax clearance certificate (according to the law on administrative determination of tax liability), (only if you do not have a Greek tax number)

• Certificate of tax residence (country where tax declaration is filed)

• For employees: pay slip (including work address)

• For pensioners: pension statement

• For self-employed: company registration & rental agreement for business premises

If documents need to be translated into Greek, you require a translator certified by the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs (digitally using Taxisnet codes if you already have your Greek tax number),
or a notary from your country of residence.

If you submit a copy of the original document, it must be certified (e.g., passport copy).
Certification can be done at:

• The Greek embassy or a Greek consulate,

• A notary public in your country.

If you cannot open an account in Greece in person, you may appoint a representative with a power of attorney to submit the required documents and sign all necessary forms on your behalf.

Steps to follow:

1. Contact a relative, friend, or lawyer who can act as your representative.

2. Visit a Greek consulate or a notary in your country of residence to issue the power of attorney and certify a copy of your passport or ID card.
